My “Vintage Revival”

ok. I am a devout reader of Mandi’s blog - Vintage Revivals. A little while back she fixed up a Cain Back Chair. Before then I had never thought to buy one. I didn’t know how I would fix it. Well what do you know? A few weeks ago Sarah Texted me this picture and asked if I wanted this chair…

After cutting herself on a rusty staple and one tetanus shot Sarah had enough. WOW I Can’t believe all the staples that were in this thing. I am pretty certain it had been outside for a while too. It was so rusty and rickety. After a little TLC, hound's-tooth, and spray paint… she looks as good as new!

It was definitely a lot more work than I thought it would be! I made sides out of cardboard and batting (thanks Mandi).

I also lucked out on the silver tacks. Joann’s sells them in the strips. After my 50%^ off coupon it was $10 for 5 yards. So much cheaper than buying the individuals! And it totally saved time!

This was my first upholstery project and it was a lot more work than I thought it would be… But, I love how it looks. I guess that makes it worth it Smile… CHEERS!

Check the matching ottoman out too!
